Summer Fun

Celebrating the Spirit of Summer, I got inspired by a photo of my great niece Maggie.  This is the finished clay before firing.  My plan is to glaze her with bright, joyful colors and place her in the center of a gigantic daisy.  Every time I look at her I smile!

In order to fire the sculpture, it needs to be hollow.  This is how I begin this process.  I ended up cutting it across the chest as well so I could access areas in the arms.   The sculpture is now drying, which may take several weeks before it is dry enough to fire in the kiln.

Sale at the Cottage

Heading for the foundry with molds in hand.  I love this sculpture and so happy when someone decides to add it to their collection.
