The Kid 24oz.

$120.00

“The Kid” 24oz. 6 1/2” tall.

“The Kid” is a form of ‘hei-tiki’ from Māori culture. The hei-tiki is associated with fertility and strength of character. The three fingers represent birth, life and death. The stylized ferns on the shoulders and fingers represent the beginnings of life and hope. “The Kid” hugs the whale tail, Wera, to hold on to family love, playfulness and friendship. Tattooed on the tail is Pikorua, twist, showing the eternal bond and loyalty of people united. On the back the whale swims alongside the Hono, sea turtle, which represents fertility, longevity, and health. Hei Matau, fish hook, marks the turtle to represent prosperity, good health, fertility and strength. “The Kid” is a limited edition of 50 and 3 artist proof and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Each piece is personally hand crafted by the artist Regina Hurley. The method of applying the glazes makes each piece unique. *Mugs may have variations in the glaze. This piece also work nicely as a pitcher.

AbiNormal Tikis is a one person studio and this art takes it’s time so if what you want is not in stock, you can select pre-order or e-mail me and I will let you know when it will be available. Thanks! Regina
